By his own admission, Varun is one of the worst chemical engineers to have ever graduated. After this realisation, and a brief career in Marketing, he has honed in on product management - a space that’s quite the buzz!
As the sole PM and founding team member, Varun helped conceptualise and execute edisn.ai - a simple idea ‘To Make Video Interactive’, which made its way to Techstars. An Amazon X-Ray for live sport, edisn.ai raised $250,000 in seed funding and eventually got bought out by Fubo TV.
After edisn.ai and an MBA at Imperial, Varun worked at Checkout.com (~3 years), Europe’s biggest fintech, as a product manager. He built payment interfaces (Hosted Payments Page & Payment Links) and support for the organization from the ground up, switching to a new tool (Zendesk) to optimize for response and resolution times.
Varun now works at Amazon within Global Transportation where he’s building network design optimization tools.
Away from the work desk, Varun volunteers with Aishwarya Trust - a not-for-profit treating children suffering from Congenital Heart Defects (CHD), a cause very dear to him. Yoga gets him through every busy week and he loves golf on a beautiful day. Oh, and he played rugby for India once upon a time!
